Sporting Kansas City add a 'keeper in MLS re-Entry Draft

SKC has made it known that they selected the ex Chicago Fire GK , Richard Sanchez, the 25 year old has 9 years of pro experience under his belt already. Developed via the FC Dallas Academy, their products dot their first team roster, he has also played in the US and Mexico, the last 3 seasons with the Fire, over this time he had 90 saves over 27 games. At the international level, Richard was the starter, getting in all 7 games as Mexico took the 2011 U-17 World Cup title at home. He was again between the pipes as the starter in the 2013 U-20 World Cup as they got to the sweet 16. From Mission Hills CA, then raised in Little Elm TX, he was off to Spain and the Atletico Madrid Academy, Spain in 2008. 2009 saw him back to Texas and the FC Dallas Academy as a Homegrown Player in Feb. '11. Dallas put him out on loan to the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers of the NASL where he made his pro debut in 2013. Sold to Liga MX titan, Tigres UANL in 2014, then loaned to FC Dallas that year and in 2016 off to Mexican team Tampico Madero in '16-'17. A trio of  years in Mexico then back to the Fire of MLS in Aug of '17 and his debut there in Sept., in 2018 he started 24 of 25 games. Now SKC has 3 'keepers, Tim Melia of Long Island & Eric Dick.
