I did in fact pay for mine, get sun poisoning and on the day with players caught in a deluge, but it was done in a week, no 2nd trip back etc. It is now not a week, but a 7 week coaching experience, wow. This partnership is to get the players started on the Professional Pathway in KC with the goal being lifting the quantity of female soccer coaches in the USA. This is to lift some barriers said to exist with today's NWSL players seeking pro jobs following their playing careers, not of course the same ones that would face, o h I dunno', members of the NYPD. Come Wed., they will be afforded as elite pro players, a direct educational experience to serve as the first step towards coaching professionally. The costs for this course are covered by specific benefactors of US Soccer and the US Soccer Development Fund benefitting these 10 players seeking the license. Serving as a positive growth opportunity in the coaching environment, this course is free to all should they meet specific playing experience levels.
The first meet is Oct. 30-Nov. 3 in the National Development Center in KC, with classroom and field sessions. This educational part of the course work then has a 7 week time period where they return to their home environment. Returning back to the NDC Dec. 15-19. An all female staff will oversee the 10, Jene' Baclawski, Rochelle Hearns, Maren McCary & Karla Thompson.
