Sporting KC goes home as FC Dallas plays on with a dominant performance half a dozen goals to none. This result extended the losing streak of the visitors to half a dozen. Dallas struck twice in the first half and then doubled that in the second for a very lopsided game to close out the season. KC was berefit a pair of players due to red cards in the game last Sunday with the Timbers. The lack of Roger Espinoza & Llie Sanchez was felt dearly. To make up for those they were missing, a quartet of Homegrown Players suited up to start, a first. Jaylin Lindsey, Gianluca Busio, Felipe Hernandez & Daniel Salloi each got the nod, for LIndsey it was his first start since a torn meniscus in March while for Hernandez, he made his first ever start. GK Eric Dick got his first minutes as he had been with Swope Park from 2018-'19 with 23 games in the USL Championship following his being picked 13th in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. It started even, then quickly went south as simple as this, Bryan Acosta floated a pass well within his half over the top of the defense, Zdenek Ondrasek ran onto it then sent it past Eric for his 6th score of 2019 just 9' in. 12' saw the home team go up by a pair, Mosquera was wide open in the penalty area after a corner came back out to him, he then played it to Hedges for a sitter in close. Busio at just 18 made a great effort to pull one back, as he got inside of Ziegler, but his effort was deflected away in the 23'. Ferreira had a try to add another to the lead just before halftime, but his feed from Reggie Cannon was sent well over the goal. Less than an hour into the game, Luis Martin sent one at Gonzalez from afar but he played it out for a corner. Next thing the home team is up 3-0 as Mosquera ran at the defense of KC and let one go from 20 yards out, Barath partiallly blocked it as caught Eric off balance and went in. 54' in, Dallas went to 4 up on a steal from KC then Ferreira found Barrios on the right of the box, and his low shot rang true. Eric made his first save in the 63' and a good one at that following another turnover, Ferreira came in one on one, he made himself big and stopped him from getting a brace. Just after this goal saving effort, Fernandes tried to get one for the visitors, beating Gonzalez but he was backed up by Hedges who played it away from danger. Dallas added to their lead at 68' with Cannon playing the ball back in for Ondrasek who then got his brace. Guiterrez, the top goal getter for KC all but got one as he took the ball at the border of the box and send a hard shot, saved by Gonzalez. Ferreira an Academy product did get his goal in the 73' to close out the scoring as he took a loose ball from the edge of the area sending it into the side netting. Eric again showed some potential and saved a Ferreira from afar tipping it off goal from 20 yards. Sporting ended the year at a dismal 13-20-8 over all games, 10-16-8 in season and 3-3-0 in Concacaf games while 0-1-0 in Lamar Hunt US Open play.
