New York Cosmos B opened its 2019 NPSL’s (National Premier Soccer League) season on Saturday with a 2:0 victory over visiting NY Athletic Club (NYAC) at Uniondale’s Mitchel Athletic Complex before an enthusiastic crowd of 3,750.
Cosmos B improve to 1-0 record in NPSL’s North Atlantic Conference, while NYAC falls to 0-1.
Forward Aaron Dennis, who spent 2010-11 playing with Cosmos Academy, scored his first professional goal with the club in 17th minute-mark with his shot that went past two NYAC defenders and its goalkeeper Laurence Girard for the 1:0 lead.
Hosts made it 2:0 in 77th minute of the second stanza, when midfielder Charlie Ledula scored off an assist from forward Aly Alberto Hassan. Ledula had checked into the match two minutes earlier.
The Cosmos continue NPSL action on May 4th as it travels take on Kingston Stockade FC at Dietz Stadium.
