Justin Haak Goes from Academy to NYCFC

A soccer player grew in Brooklyn as this 17 year old is now a pro following James Sands and Long Islander Joe Scally. Haak said, "It's hard to describe. You dream about it almost your whole life." Claudio Reyna, also a youth phenom and team Sporting DIrector contributed, " Justin is an amazing and smart kid. He is one of the original academy members, he's our Club's first ever signing from the five boroughs."   Justin started on the first ever Academy team, the U-14's in 2015, moving up the pathway and aided in taking the Generation adidas Cup in 2017, then the USSDA National Championship in 2018. Capped with the USMNT U-18's he was part of their taking the Vaclav Jezek International Youth Tournament in the Czech Republic in Aug. NYCFC HC Domenec Torrent informed, "This is an incredible opportuity for Justin. Homegrown talent is so important to a football club." He came out of the Met-Oval, went to NYCFC preseason camp in 2018 with great showings facing LA Galaxy & Atletico San Luis, and in '18 was a regular in NYCFC training sessions.
