The USL side helped shore up the 2019 sseason with this handful of players, Aaron Guillen, Steve Miller (but not his band), Graham Smith, Alex Tambakis & DJ Taylor, following the requisite club, league and federation approval. Each of these stalwarts logged over 2,100 in this season. More players under team option are being considered for this next season as well.
Aaron Guillen had a total of 2,181 minutes over 26 games, the most yet in his pro career. From El Paso, he was the Team's Defensive Player of the Year with 95 clearances, 46 interceptions, 26 won tackles, 100 duels won and the team leader with 16 blocked shots.
Another backliner and rising player, DJ Taylor is a product of the NCFC Academy, a key part of the enlarging youth-to-pro-pipeline. DJ logged 2,742 minutes over 32 games with 97 clearances, 48 interceptions, 48 won tackles, 145 won duels and 10 blocked shots..
Steve Miller will enter his 4th full year with the team playing midfield and defense over his 2,742 minutes in 33 games. Winning 162 duel and 2nd on team with 49 key passes. Steve was all over the scoresheets with 4 goals and 7 assists.
Rookie Graham Smith comes back for his sophmore season after being found via the team combine and pre season trials. A midfielder he logged 2,788 minutes most of any field player this campaign. At his defensive midfielder role he had 39 interceptions, won 150 duels, and lead the team with 56 tackles won and his 87.9 passing rate.
The team backstop, Alex Tambakis comes back as the starter missing but one game. His 2,790 minutes over the 33 games lead to 95 saves and 7 shutouts. He drew league wide recognition in being being awarded the USL Save of the month in April, June, July & Oct.
