FC Motown Defeat Cosmos B In NPSL’s Northeast Region Final

New Jersey’s FC Motown defeated hosts New York Cosmos B, 3:2, in the NPSL’s (National Premier Soccer League) Northeast Region Final at Columbia University’s Rocco B. Commisso Stadium on Saturday evening.

After an intense scoreless first half, it was the visitors that got on the board with a tally from forward Walter Calderon 53^rd minute.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

FC Motown made it 2:0 seven minutes later when midfielder Christopher Katona found the back of the net.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Forward Zaire Bartley had a chance to get one back for Cosmos B in the 62^nd minute but his shot was saved by FC Motown goalkeeper Abdoukarim Danso.

On the other end, midfielder Dilaver Duka increased FC Motown’s lead to 3:0 with a penalty kick goal in the 72^nd minute-mark.

Bartley, who has scored four goals in playoffs, had another opportunity for the hosts but once again his shot was saved by Danso.

Argentinean forward Ivan Berterame, who came in as a substitute in 86^th minute for Bartley, scored from just outside the FC Motown’s 18-yard box five minutes later to get Cosmos B on the board.

A minute later, into stoppage time, Berterame notched his second tally of the match, however FC Motown held on for the 3:2 victory.
