Next for Ramos & Co., US Virgin Islands

With the next game set for Nov. 3, the US U-20's have one more day to prep for this game. They took an early commanding lead with Puerto Rico, and their one lapse did cost them a goal. Luckily it did not happen in the World Cup may have been quite the fatal mistake against an Italy or France, etc. In the end it was a 7-1 result.  Some more quick information below on the team and tourney.

History of the Tourney:

- 1962, year #1, then named Concacaf Youth Tournament in Panama, inital 6 versions plainly named. regional championship events.

-1976, started to be the qualifier for the first FIFA World Youth Championship in '77, now the U-20 World Cup, taking place  every other year.

- 56 years, many formats, from 1974-1994, it sent 2 teams from the region to the WC, now 4 go.

- No winner in 5 events , 1998-2007 as the last round was in 2 groups of 4 and took place in 2 nations.

- 27th event and champions crowned in all but the 5 listed above.

A handful of nations have already qualified along with host nation Poland for the games in May of 2019, a total of 2 dozen will vie for the World Cup. Italy, Ukraine, France, Norway, New Zeland, Tahiti, Japan, Korea Tepublic, Qatar & Saudi Arabia are in, England the reigning title holder failed to qualify, the 6th defending nation to do so.
