New York Red Bulls 3-0 over Minnesota

By Sean McCaffery, March 26, 2018

We already put up some images and interviews on our Facebook page from early in the game. Seems as if they have already found midseason form with Robles getting yet another clean sheet and Jesse Marsch stating at the press conference that after every 4th one they get a pizza a beer post game, the locker room had no pizza when I arrived. THe defense on this day would also help the offense as Long Islander Tim Parker got his first assist as a Red Bull, when BWP put the ball in all he did was point back to Tim acknowledging the help. Alex Muyl played a great game with the opening goal and closing assist, possibly due to there being some new tall guy with the same hair style playing on the left coast he is upping his game? First year player Marc Rzatkowski with an engine that does not quit comitted a foul then did not back off the ball, was cautioned probably half earned by they foul. It was a total team win as the team is now a perfect 4-0 at home, outscoring their adversaries 12-1 over that same stretch.  Without a loss for their last 10 regular season games, having 6 shutouts and outscoring the others in a big way its NYRB 26-6. Phillips moved into 5th place in MLS for multiple goal games but then if you saw the interview on the Facebook page you already knew that. This gave him a total of 89 goals in the MLS regular season and 106 overall. Those 89 put him in a tie for 11th place in league history with Carlos Ruiz. Not only did BWP pass Wondo of the 'Quakes in multiple goal games with about 50 fewer played but also to hitting the back of the net more than him in a 5 year period with those 88 coming as most of the season is left to play. 35 of his 51 shutouts have come at RBA, giving Robles a 1.01 GAA at home. Muyl got both his first goal of the season and first ever multi point game. Kyle Duncan with his assist to Muyl got his first MLS regualr season point. MLS II had 2 make their MLS debuts with Stefano Bonomo coming in as a sub and Florian Valot getting the start. Jesse Marsch joined the half century club, getting his 50th win as HC of RBNY. THe 7th starting lineup in 7 games was out there and it seems to be working.
