- 2022 Official Match Ball unveiled: Major League Soccer and adidas on Monday unveiled the Official Match Ball for the league's 2022 season and announced that the ball will debut at the 2021 MLS Cup between the Portland Timbers and New York City FC on Saturday, Dec. 11 in Portland (3 pm ET | ABC, UniMás in US; TSN, TVA Sports in Canada).
The MLS will use their 2022 ball in the Final. If they plan to use it next season, do that not now in the biggest game of the year.
Every ball handles differently, reacts different, spins, bounces, is effected by rain, Portland!
Wait, it is not that important to get the ball in use, all off season is the time for that. This is a travesty, should the ball have any impact in the game, a joke. Who makes this decision, there should be enough ex-players in decision making positions by now, they love to brag about being a quarter of a century old, behave like it. This is a rookie mistake and I hope an odd bounce does not decide anything relative to the final outcome.
