NCFC picks a peck of pecka for the midfield

THe 30 year old Brazilian, Wellington Paeckart, of course goes by the one name monicker of "PECKA" will be with the team for the coming 2020 season. He has been in the US for some time, of late with San Antonio FC as he was their captain last season. He wore the world famous yellow jersey with the U-18's in Brazil and in 2009 began his pro career with the renowned Flamengo FC in 2009, then with CFZ de Rio before debuting here with the Ft. Laudrdale Strikers in 2011, he Lockhart home until 2014. Next stop was MLS with RSL, their Real Monarch, Rayo OKC and until last year, San Antonio. in 2019, he had 22 USL games, 21 starts totalling 1,790 minutes. Most thought of for his defensive prowess, he had 27 interceptions, winning 28 tackles to go with 136 arial duels. Out of Rio he showed his offensive chops via a pair of goals and a trio of assists each season career marks. His high passing accuracy of 88.8% was good for 3rd on his team. Overall he had 71 games and 5,653 minutes with SAFC 3 goals and 4 assits from 2017-'19. No stranger to Sahlen Stadium, having played there 60x with 3 goals and a sole assist.

NCFC HC Dave Sarachan told "We were looking to bring in a veteran who can play in the midfield with a good soccer IQ and the ability to break up plays. Pecka has a tremendous background in those categories and he was also a captain in San Antonio. He's very familiar with the USL and the kind of soccer we want to play."

In 2015, he was with MLS and USL Championship teams alike, his 4 games with RLS and 6 for their Real Monarchs. 2016 had him with Rayo OKC for 1,046 minutes over 20 games.
