Morales Inks 2 Year Contract with NYCFC

Playmaking midfielder Maxi Morales from Argentina is now with NYCFC through 2021, hoping to add to his 20 goals and 45 assists since coming here from Club Leon of Mexico just before the 2017 season. He has of late achived what just 2 ahead of him have, 20 assists in an MLS season, now with one game left he has the league lead by 4, this title is well within his sight, these 45 have him trailing just the first player signed by NYCFC, David Villa for the team title. Maxi informed, " I',m very happy to extend my contract with the club for 2 more years. I want to thank the club and the fans for letting me be a part of this team. The decision was easy because we are a family and when you feel that way, it makesit easier. To the fans, thank you for all the support you have given me. I hope you continue to enjoy watching us playing game after game as we try to accomplish our goal of becoming champions." 

The diminutive player at just 5'3" and 115 pounds played a giant role in his team over this season as they are the top seed in the East, thusly earning a spot in the Concacaf Champions League, the first ever for NYCFC. June saw him named to the 2019 MLS All-Star Team, his first such selection, he joins David VIlla, Andrea Pirlo, Captain Alex RIng and another as the only players from the side to be so honored. Player of the month in June, with his trio of goals and half a dozen assists over just 3 games, wow, his team was undefeated for the month with 2 wins in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, he started in both. Claudio Reyna the Sporting Director told, "We're very excited to have Maxi extend his contract with NYCFC. He's a role model, a top professional." Now with half a dozen players extended over the past year, these players are assured to to help the club in the near future. Coach Torrent state, "Maxi is an incredible football player. He's having one of the best seasons in MLS history. He always wants what's best for New York City FC."
