MLS Pushed Back

This from the FIre, MLS season is suspended through May 10.  This is done in step with the advice provided to the MLS on Sunday out of the CDC for stopping 50 or more people gathering for the next 2 months. The league does fully intend on fulfiling their entire 2020 season. Many teams sent out these statement yesterday, thus far one today. The Red Bulls stated "We are in full support of Major League Soccer's decision to further postpone the season."

The Whitecaps similarly informed "We fully support the decision announced today by MLS to extend the suspension of matches in accordance with public health recommendations." They add that the top thing is and forever will be the health and safety of players, staff, supporters, partners & the public. They will keep on to deal with MLS in returing to the field of play, once cleared to do so. They are extremly appreciative of the backing and time afforded by their supporters. All are in this as one and willl move on being stronger as a unit.

NYCFC also issued a statement. They wish all to be well, and that during this once in a lifetime experience with things morphing fast that they are certain to inform the newest MLS and team updates ASAP.The new target date for MLS to return is now May 10. NYCFC fully supports this and they repeated the MLS statement. NYCFC offered this.
