MLS gets Booked by Guinness

There are few times in the game of soccer when a booking is a good thing, in this case it does a World of good as MLS will now be in the Guinness Book of World Records. This was achived throughout their MIB tourney and the conducted the "Largest Single Location Professional Soccer Tournament" at the ESPN Wide World of Sports facility in Orlando, the final is Tues. eve., 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, TSN & TVA. 

From July 8 and the start of the MIB tourney, 750 or so players and almost 500 staff took part in these games, 51 games over 35 days, not a bad way to kick off the season again, it's 25th and oh yes, $1,100,000 is on the line, along with a berth in the CCL. This did not just transform the games but the fans had their methodology of interaction revamped, some 15,000 took part in virtual viewing parties nation if not world wide.

Mark Abbott, MLS Pres. & Dep. Commish informed "This Guinness Worlds Record title will forever be remembered becasue of the incredible teamwork of everyone involved in the MLS is Back Tournament. During a uniquely challenging time, MLS was able to bring soccer back safely. Thank you to our entire soccer community for their commitment."

For the final, a artist for each club is making a distinctive mural as the game is played, teams will join with fans to make a virutual Tifo to be shown on the videoboards.
