Miami FC repeated as NPSL’s (National Premier Soccer League) Champion after a 3:1 win over hosts New York Cosmos in the 2019 National Final before crowd of 5,285 at Uniondale’s Mitchel Athletic Complex on Saturday evening.

Midfielder Dylan Mares scored twice (18th & 24th minutes) in the first half to give the visitors the 2:0 lead.

The Cosmos cut the lead in half in 31st minute mark when Albanian international defender Ansi Agolli sent a free kick just outside the penalty area towards the Miami’s goal which got past goalkeeper Mark Pais.

This is Miami’s second consecutive NPSL crown after it topped hosts FC Motown, 3:1, in 2018 finale.

Saturday’s victory is also Miami’s 14th consecutive as they conclude the NPSL season with 15-1 ledger, while the Cosmos 17-game unbeaten streak is snapped as they fall to 16-1-1 overall mark.
