Miami & Houston
The grandmother of McGlynn has her birthday as does Cremaschi, not giving away the age of either, but there was a nice cake in Queens. Missing a few players, I do not think will cause much difficulty for Miami.
First few minutes are in the Dynamo defensive third as Dynamo get forward, they are fouled. McGlynn to the top of the area and out then Houston with a throw. They go back to the bottom of the circle, Dynamo look in and again sent out. One pass and it is over the half for Miami and Segovia with the quick restart, a bit too quick as the ball was in motion. Houston presses a bit and a ball for Cremaschi is taken, Houston loses one to Miami then McGlynn is called as his hand catches Segovia. Segovia goes near post off an error by Houston, making your opponent pay makes your game a lot easier. The back line goes to a covered player it is challenged to the feet of the goal getter and at just 6’ Miami is ahead. That ball should never have been played. Dynamo waste no time getting forward and go offside. A give and go by Miami is broken up in the area. Dynamo again get forward again stopped by a foul call, they just cannot get it right. Houston with 4 players within mere yards of each other, 2 all but run into each other. Segovia for Suarez who has his first time shot at the top of the area go just wide. Lujan is fouled and remains down. There was just a water break for those fasting for Ramadan. No pressure from Miami as Houston pass back and forth on their back line. Over to the Miami half and lost but they get the throw, another shot on some positive movement forward but Houston now has multiple passes in their defensive half, they win a throw in the Miami half.. Get forward and yellow to Bright on a hard foul at 15’, slid in hard and gets the foot of the player, Twellman thinks it may be reviewed by VAR, McGlynn over the ball, VAR is ok. Near the top of the 6, Suarez heads it out Houston recovers and lose it on the end line. A bit out and now Houston hold in their half. McGlynn goes long for Dorsey, he looks inside and the GK has it. Houston with light pressure win a throw. A dummy for Ponce is taken, Dynamo recover and have it in their half a play on is the right call the ball gets to the top of the arc and is cleared by the GK. Another pass by Houston to a covered player while 2 were near and they give it away in the Houston side of the fields. A foul on Alba, he is down holding the outside of his left knee. Houston deep on their end with a throw. Taylor is putting McGlynn being covered to be a loss of possession by him leading up to the goal, not a chance, middle of the field near your goal to a covered player, it is on the pass. Houston stalks a ball and midfield and it goes way back, not forward for Jack wins a throw intending to hit Ponce. Toe poked by Miami recovered by Houston who now go to their defensive half a few passes there, a few more , they get forward pull it back and McGlynn finds a player, his leg gets found by Busquests. DFK from too far to shoot but into the area the GK and his player go up the GK , wins now back to the Houston GK and it is lost as Fray gets it but unable to settle in. Allende beats a few, finds Suarez and his shot is off the mark. Aliyu fouls Bright a few times and gets a caution for his troubles as Bright goes rolling along the ground. Miami passing around midfield then go into their own half a few times now further back with some pressure. Cremaschi with a give and go then it goes back and forth a few times into his defensive half. Dynamo getting forward and win a throw just in the defensive half of the Dynamo and they go far back. Near the area then well back for Dynamo, DFK Houston off the foul on Allende. McGlynn is sure to take it from 40 yard out and right of the goal Suarez goes down in the area and a whistle. Suarez for Cremaschi, Sigovia , Alba, Suarez, Allende with a low shot, saved. Dynamo with McGlynn with another long ball into the area and out for Artur from beyond the area is high. Dynamo defend the ball out of touch for a throw in the Miami half. Again gotten wide by Houston and they get a throw and again go back with it, so much yardage being given back. Atrur for Dorsey 40 yards in the air but he uses his hand to control it. Miami with a long p-ass taken away in their half McGlynn looks into the area but player is covered. Allende gets a ball and what a shot from the side of the area and to the far post, a frozen rope. Segovia has a ball to Suarez, his first time ball to Allende and his left footed shot goes upper 90 at 27’. Dynamo just miss a pair in the 6, a ball in goes back out then in again just behind one and just ahead of the other runner. Segovia for Suarez in the area Artur gets to it. A long ball out by Dynamo goes off Busquets, why he tried on that ball I cannot say, throw for Houston in the Miami half. A ball over the top by Houston is out for a throw and the Houston player if it were American football, clips him. Escobar has a ball played too short and Escobar puts a leg out to trip the player only a foul. Taken away by Houston at the end line and played out to the feet of Busquets, over to Alba and his shot handled easily. Dorsey again but too long and the GK grabs it up. Again the play that led to the first goal of Miami called a give away by Jack? Bright strips the player out to Suarez into Segovia he has another at 47’, not the time to give up another. They just get near and stay with ti and finish. Punishing yet another mistake, Segovia is taken down, stays with it and fires it home, just inside the post.
For the 2ned half, Miami keep at it. Houston get numbers forward, eliminate the errors, they caused a pair of goals. Stop playing the ball back again and again.
Houston get to a ball, cannot control it and give a throw at midfield. Suarez draws the foul, by his grimace maybe not next time. Houston knocks down a ball in hold then go back with it and Miami presses a long ball is held then lost and a foul by Houston. Busquests, Suarez Allede, Segovia, and a corner for Miami. The corner from Segovia goes to near the penalty area and Suarez, Alba sends it high and wide. Houston with a long ball lost but recovered, then defended out and a foul, Bartlow kicks a player to the ground. Houston all the way to the GK again. Artur goes long, the GK clears it well beyond the area, some confusion Ponce almost steals it, Ponce inside played out and Busquests fouled. Escobar and Ibrahim out Lodiero and Steres in, Olson takes a yellow. Allen gets to a ball all over the area, then fouls, why foul so deep in the offensive third? McGlynn plays it in gets it back under pressure gets it away it is then lost, Miami recovers, going back to the GK. Cresmachi holds and though a defender draped over him, is able to give it away into the area and Miami gets it out. Looking for Alba he goes back and then Segovia and Allende 2x, Ponce leads the charge, McGlynn and now they are stalled. Now below their center circle, McGlynn gets it and over the top to Alba. Suarez, draws a caution. Miami tries to beat Houston on the line, get knocked down and Bright grabs a players top , typically a yellow and Taylor states if not for the 1st yellow, this is the definition of a yellow, so he should be done. McGlynn for Ponce it’s in but offside. A pair of players in, Bartlow for Ponce in the area and goes down, a pair of players including Ponce are off. Dorsey for Lodiero, McGlynn, Artur beyond the area looking for a runner back post who cannot get there. Redondo in for Miami, Bright out. Allen for Ponce and its deemed a foul by the talking heads, both went up for that deflected ball, not really but the GK does get better protection, both players have equal claim to that ball. Lodiero whistled for a foul. Houston with an ineffective press as a player is left wide open after the triple team the ball. Miami with many uncontested passes, now Suarez for Allende over the top, Sergovia has it but it is called on Allende, who was well off. Alba for Allende again off, this delayed off is not good. Ruiz in Segovia is out, Taylor for Allende. Redondo takes a yellow for pushing down Lodiero. Dynamo absorb a hard foul in the center circle then look to go forward get tit wide Dorsey has his ball in sent out over the end line as Busquets is down again, can he even be subbed, he took a massive divot out on a slide and the ball just missed him going in . McGlynn over the ball all but out of the area, Miami thrown. Duenas in for Bassi at 76’. Still back and forth a Dynamo player hustles to prevent a deep throw and goes to the GK some pressure now and Miami wins it then goes back. Allen to Taylor then Ruiz and they get a throw. Bartlow whistled for the foul on Ruiz. Suarez beats a trio and goes near post at 79’. This off the restart, his shot just overpowered the outreached arm of the GK. This again off an error, the foul, only one of Miami’s 4 today did not come off an error. Taylor for Suarez, the defender gets to it but off. Busquets and Suarez off Morales in for his first game along with Alfonso. Moralez, the son of Spain legend and the current Miami coach. Allen gets the armband from Busquets. Houston with a clear by the GK and now it is lost as too may long touches . Cremaschi from the unrushing, Afonso of Miami and they win a corner. They go short and hold just beyond the area now into their half of the field with less than 7’ to play. Rondondo with a give away Fray with great defense. Segal should have let it go first time and not lose it. Duenas finds Lodiero and he puts one away, his first goal with the Dynamo. A broken play at 84’ he went far post, an awkward shot but bet the ‘keeper. Lodiero in the area, Alba beats him to it, where was this effort over the last 84’? Artur from a distance, the shot dribbles wide. Afonso takes the worst of a collision and gets called for a foul. Dorsey trips up Afonso. They speak of how good will the Eastern Conference be this year, naming a few teams, yet not the one who won it last year? Just wide again by Miami at 90’. Five minutes of added time. Segal and the loose ground take down Allen. Allen reads Segal trying to get a bit fancy and send it away from goal, he tried to get it to his trailing player. Afonso with a fast yellow he was a recent sub. Taylor with a class move to get around his defender, feeds Cremaschi and again far back, getting to the GK, out of his area and he gets it again, now in the 6 box. Cremaschi with a hard foul and carded, a lot of those for a game that was not even close. He did this foul I am sure due to Alba just being tossed to the floor, Dorsey foulrd by Alba who did a professional foul, accepts his yellow like a champ now he and the player are arguing. McGlynn on the restart cuts back on a player and a foul is called. Players are still jawing. Fray takes a red for contact to the neck.
