The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol unveils new Mexican National Team logo
The new MNT crest to debut on uniforms in mid-2022
The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) proudly presented today the evolution of the Mexican National Team brand with the introduction of a new logo that recognizes the team’s history and its future evolution. The new strategy re-enforces the federation’s commitment to promote the sport of soccer and inspire Mexicans in a positive manner.
Powered by the slogan, Hecho de los Mexicanos (“created from the essence of the Mexican people”), the FMF unveiled its new national team identity this evening during a multi-media light and sound presentation at the legendary Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
The new emblem is the result of a two-year strategic initiative to evolve, modernize and adapt the team’s image while demonstrating a deep appreciation for its history and those emblematic elements that made up the current crest, such as the colors of the flag, the eagle, the Piedra del Sol (sun stone) and the ball.
The FMF appreciates the invaluable support of its partner adidas in the design of the new logo, and that of its fans - who were an instrumental part of the process through their participation in nationwide focus groups. This rebranding reinforces FMF’s commitment to its stated goals, and its commitment to proudly represent the people of Mexico - a resilient, competitive and committed nation – who are the main motivation of our institution.
As part of the launch video, FMF proclaimed that "The new crest of our National Team was created from the same passion with which you [the fans] go out to work every day, of your dreams, of the pride with which you represent your country, of solidarity, strength in the face of adversity and the future we build together; of our culture and traditions that we keep alive, of the signs of love and the voices that sing ’Cielito Lindo.’ It is made of a history that reminds us of who we are and where we come from and commits us to the future we are heading towards: it is made of you and the passion for our country and football. It’s the embodiment of Hecho de los Mexicanos.”
