Mallory Weggermann Paralympic swimmer to be honored at RBA

As a sign of support for spinal cord injury research, the 4th annual Wings for Life Match at RBA is being hosted as NYRB take on the Montreal Impact. Mallory Weggmann is a 2x Paralympic swimmer and a WIngs for Life Ambassador, as she has brought raising awareness and funds for such reseach to the forefront, thusly her being honored for such efforts pre-game. She was the 2011 Espy winner as "Best Female Athlete with a Disability". During the 2012 Paralympic games in London, she took a Gold with a record in the 50m freestyle and having the last lap of the  Bronze Medal-winning 4x100, relay team. Of late she competed in the 2016 Rio Summer games and has just wrapped up her coverage with NBC Sports for the 2018 Winter Paralympic games. 

Buying tickets to this game at newyorkredbulls.com/wingsfor life will have a piece of each sale going direct to the Wings for Life Foundation,  a certified 501(c)(3), with its mission of  finding a cure for spinal cord injury. Another piece to this will be the May 6, 2018 Wings for Life World Run, the 5th of its kind as runners and wheel chair athletes both do a simultaneous global race. There is no finish line, but rather the participants start along side eachother in keeping ahead of a catcher car. The US component of this will take place in  Sunrise, FL, more are expected to use the app. Fully 100% of entry fees and donations go direct to the non profit foundation for life-changing spinal cord research.
