Diatta magic lifts Monaco |
|
A superb volley from Krépin Diatta set Monaco on their way to a 2-1 win at Strasbourg.
The Senegalese winger fired home two minutes before the interval to put the visitors ahead. Sofiane Diop added a second for Les Monégasques (53') before Habib Diallo reduced the arrears for Strasbourg (65').
"My players were ready and we started preparing early to be ready," said Monaco coach who now turns his attention to the crunch Champions League qualification clash at PSV Eindhoven in midweek. "There are several players who have pleased me. This is very important for the following weeks and months.
"We have to utilise more than eleven or fourteen players. We must be in contention both in Europe and the league. We have to get the job done next week [against PSV]."

"Winning the game and scoring five goals is important, as is not conceding any chances and maintaining high levels throughout, even when the gaps were getting larger. I know that I have a very talented team but they need to play as a team, and that needs to happen over the entirety of a match, and then throughout the season.
