NEW YORK CITY & MEXICO CITY (August 1, 2025) - Leagues Cup Organizing Committee today announced the Leagues Cup Disciplinary Committee decisions following Phase One’s first round of matches, played between July 29-31, 2025:
- In the 90+2 minute of the San Diego FC vs. Club Pachuca match, San Diego FC player Anders Dreyer was issued a red card for engaging in violent conduct. In accordance with Section IV. Laws of the Game. 2. C. i. e. of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has issued a one match suspension to Dreyer.
- In the 90+12 minute of the San Diego FC vs. Club Pachuca match, Pachuca Physical Trainer Mauricio Marchetti was issued a red card for delaying the restart of play by the opposing team. In accordance with Section IV. Laws of the Game. 2. C. ii. a. of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has issued a one match suspension to Marchetti.
- In the 88th minute of the Minnesota United FC vs. Querétaro match, Querétaro player Ángel Zapata was issued a red card for receiving two yellow cards. In accordance with Section IV. Laws of the Game. 2. C. i. g. of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has issued a one match suspension to Zapata.
- In the 80th minute of the Charlotte FC vs. FC Juárez match, Charlotte player Idan Toklomati was issued a red card for engaging in violent conduct. In accordance with Section IV. Laws of the Game. 2. C. i. e. of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has issued a one match suspension to Toklomati.
- In the 90+7 minute of the Colorado Rapids vs. Club Santos match, Santos goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo was issued a red card for engaging in violent conduct. In accordance with Section IV. Laws of the Game. 2. C. i. e. of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has issued one match suspension to Acevedo.
- Club Puebla was given a warning in accordance with Article 13.4.iii of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations for delaying the start and the second half of the match against New York City FC. Another delay in the restart or start of the match could result in the suspension of the Club's Head Coach, as stipulated in the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations.
- Club Universidad Nacional (Pumas) was given a warning in accordance with Article 13.4.iii of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations for delaying the start and the second half of the match against Orlando City SC. Another delay in the restart or start of the match could result in the suspension of the Club's Head Coach, as stipulated in the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations.
- Club Santos Laguna was given a warning in accordance with Article 13.4.iii of the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations for delaying the start and the second half of the match against Colorado Rapids SC. Another delay in the restart or start of the match could result in the suspension of the Club's Head Coach, as stipulated in the Leagues Cup 2025 Competition Regulations.
- After the July 30 Inter Miami CF vs. Club Atlas match, a member of Inter Miami’s club delegation displayed improper conduct by entering restricted areas without an official event credential. In accordance with the Leagues Cup 2025 Tournament Regulations, the Disciplinary Committee has suspended the individual involved from all technical areas for the remainder of Leagues Cup 2025 and issued an undisclosed fine to Inter Miami CF.
