Let's try this one on for size, Liga MX & MLS will both take a month off for these games. How will that work with the northern teams in our domestic league, with cold weather at the start & end, or end even more so or a more congested schedule, neither are to me a good option. Interspersing the games throughout the season may be a better fit, make the games special, build interest in fans of both leagues in the other. I do want to see who my fav team takes on in a week or 3 as they face another in league play.
These games are to be part and parcel of the CCL with the taker of the title garnering an automatic berth in the CCL Round of 16, not too bad, runners up get into the Qualifiers for the CCL.
