BEST OF ROUND 23

Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and Reims all hit five whilst Saint-Etienne and Lorient both secure vital wins in their bids to avoid the drop. Check out the action from Round 23 of Ligue 1 Uber Eats here!

Five-star PSG rout the champions
Danilo Pereira scored a brace as PSG thrashed LOSC 5-1 at the Stade Pierre Mauroy.
The Portugal international midfielder opened the scoring (10') before grabbing another (51') adding to goals from Presnel Kimpembe (32') and Lionel Messi (38') as PSG ran riot at the home of the champions. Kylian Mbappé added a stunning fifth for the leaders (67') with Sven Botman replying for LOSC.

Clermont spring a nice surprise

Nice surrendered second place in the table after slipping to a 1-0 home defeat against Clermont.
Elsaban Rashani tapped home the winner 13 minutes from time to move Clermont up to 15th position.
"I quickly saw that we were not playing at the right tempo,'' said a frustrated Nice coach Christophe Galtier. "We were also poor in our general play and suspect defensively. All of that combined, it was too much for us to beat an excellent Clermont team."

Milik magic lifts Marseille
A sumptuous hat-trick from Arkadiusz Milik helped Marseille overcome Angers 5-2 in a thriller at the Orange Velodrome.
Angers raced into an early two-goal lead through Angelo Fulgini (8') and Nabil Bentaleb (11').
But OM hit back in style thanks to Milik's treble (18', 70' & 78'), Gerson (21') and a stunning finish from Cengiz Under (85') to complete a fantastic turnaround as Marseille leapfrogged Nice into second place.
"You have to be mentally strong to finish in the top three of this league," said Marseille defender Leonardo Balerdi. "We proved it despite two goals from Angers at the start of the match. Between the support of the fans and the team's state of mind, we were able to come back. That's why we finished strong and won this game."

Monaco overcome Lyon test
Wissam Ben Yedder scored one and assisted another as Monaco overcame Lyon 2-1 at the Stade Louis II.
Ben Yedder crossed for Jean Lucas to head home the opener in the second minute, then weighed in with his 14th goal of the season (27'), to make sure of maximum points for Philippe Clément’s side.

"It was a very good game for us,'' said PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino, who must now prepare his side for a crucial period both domestically and in Europe. "I'm happy with the performance and I congratulated the players after the game. I saw a lot of positive things during the game and it really pleased me. I'm happy because the team was compact, which allowed us to perform better. It's a starting point for us but we must continue this way."
