Late Goal by Ottowa Downs Penn FC

By Sean McCaffery, May 8, 2018

With a goal in the last 3 minutes of regular time, The Canadian team beat the previously undefeated at home Penn FC. Colin Falvey put away the ball following a corner but it was not without controversy as the Penn back stop took a blow to the back putting him to the ground, as Colin brought the ball in and into the goal  gk Lewis was trying to recover. Ottowa did play a strong game, hitting the framework twice. Penn FC surged in the attack for the balance of the game, but the visitors packed the box and got their initial win of the season. This was the 2nd of 3 games in just 5 days for Penn, next up is Toroonto FC II in Canada, thusly they used a vastly younger lineup for this middle game, giving the veteran players a rest. Seeking the same offensive output as in the Tampa game, they sent the ball into the middle but the Fury withsood the challanges. At 84 minutes, Penn was close via a free kick as Jerry Ortiz was fouled outside the penalty area, he took the kick, hitting the wall, that rebound was flighted to the left post as former Miami FC player, Calvin Rezende hit the ground to get to it but the poor angle lead to a goal kick as it went harmlessly over the endline.
