By Sean McCaffery, October 26, 2018

USWNT HC Jill Ellis has selected her team to go to Europe, facing Portugal in Lisbon 11/8 @1p.m. ET on ESPN2 & Scotland in Glasgow 11/13 @2p.m. ET on FS1 & UDN. These are the first games since taking the title in the Concacaf Champions Tournament with a stunning 26-0 goal differential and a dominating 5-0 record since 1985 when they were formed, oh yes they also made their way to the FIFA World Cup in 2019 hosted by France. These two games open as the team seeks win #500, quite the mile stone, boasting a record of 499-65-74. Of the 24 rostered players for this most recent tourney, 18 return from qualifying as does Long Island favorite Allie Long who will of course be rejoining fellow Long Islander Crystal Dunn who had a goal in the Concacaf games and Carli Lloyd, the only local players in this camp. As 2018 draws to a close despite the ardous schedule, a great record of 16-0-2 looks to be built upon here in the first away games since the summer of 2017. The 11/8 game is the first ever in Lisbon as the Algave Cup is contested on the South Coast of Portugal. Alex Morgan enters these games one goal shy of the century mark which will tie her with Tiffeny Milbrett a past member of the NY Power of the WUSA, Tiffeny was just inducted in the US Soccer Hall of Fame last weekend and both would then be tied for #6 all time for the USWNT. During the Concacaf games, 10 players found the back of the net, an amazing balance led by multiple goal getters, Alex Morgan 7, Tobin Heath 4, Lloyd & Rose Lavelle 3 per, and a pair for Julie Ertz.
