Aron Hyde has been called into help with the saves for the USMNT and he brings with him his 14 years of experience both in the US and at the international level as GK coach. He was last with Atl. Utd., now the full time coach he had been with the team for recent wins facing Canada & Cuba during Concacaf Nations League play. Earnie Stewart, US Soccer Sporting Director pulled the trigger on this hire in partnership with HC Gregg Berhalter, he starts full time with the January camp, location TBD in light of the recent heightened hostilites in the Mid-East NOT due to the horrific human rights history of Qatar, wow. Earlier we put out a story relative to that.
Stewart informed, "Aron brings a tremendous amount of experience and a knowledge of both the domestic and international landscape. He will be a great addition to the senior team staff while also serving as a connector to the reast of our programs."
A trio of years with MLS standardbearer Atlanta United as their first GK coach, his tutelage aided their GK's to have the 4th lowest GAA's in 2017 & '18 and give up just a pair of goals in their MLS Cup playoff run of 2018. Under his wing, Brad Guzan had the 6th longest shutout streak in MLS history with 541 games in 2017, what a mark that is.
No stranger to the USMNT programs, Aron had a pair of years with the full NT and many YNTs. The Chicago Fire had him for half a dozen years, 2010-'15, after being an asst. at the U. of Washington men's team.
Seattle U. had the benefit of his services as GK Coach from 2008-'09, before he was with Seattle's Emerald City FC as asst, GK Coach and HC for a duo of their boy's sides.
USMNT HC Berhalter stated "We are pleased to add Arron to the technical staff as Goalkeeper Coach., He has extensive knowledge of the American goalkeeer pool and excels on the training field preparing our goalkeepers to perform."
Originally out of Birmingham England, he played for Walsall FC, Millwall FC & Wycombe Wanderers of England. Stateside he had time with Judson College of the NAIA. Holder of the USSF A & GK licensenses to go with a UFA A Coaching lic. Seattle U. bestowed upon him a well earned Masters in Sport Administration and Leadership in 2009. I already do not like him since I only have a BS in Sports Admin, and a USSF C.
