Houston Dashes RBNY hopes for a win

By Sean McCaffery, February 16, 2020

Yes it is pre season, but every games counts, NYRB went ahead early with a 12' goal creditied to Kaku, but the Dynamo got level in the 58' as Memo Rodiriguz got one from his midfield position. The first half was very much in favor of NY but 2nd half adjustments are always key, Tab Ramos made some good ones to knot up his old team. The 2nd  half press instituted made a world of difference as Houston all but took the lead at 84' as a ball played in by Macelo Palomino was sent goalward by Michael Salazar,  Ryan Meara was up to the challange, with his game saving far post save. The Houston backstop, Maric had his on heroics as he turned away Florian Valot inside the box as Royer fed him a cross but he was up to it, Daniel kept the pressure up with a go at goal that was just wide as he beat two defenders. Manotas had a pair of chances a minunte apart, at 9' his shot was saved, at 10' just wide. The defense is where the offense begins, Dynamo back Adam Lundkvist hit Manotas with a long pass at 37', he kept the ball to draw the defender, then fed Rodriguez who carried the ball, laid it off to Martinez who also shot wide. At 51' Sims gathered a cross near a clear net, but must have heard the foot steps of Kiki Struna as his effort went high, a few minutes later Jorgensen, who was a problem all game, forced Maric into a save. At 57' a free kick off the foul on Rodriguez gave Houston  great look at goal, it reached Struna, he headed it back across the goal to have it cleared by the RBNY back line. Big changes expect at the hour mark came at 63' included ex-NYCFC player and NY native, Tom McNamara coming off as Nico Lemoine created the new look team's first good try on goal, he got to the endline, and a blocked shot was sent over the endline by RBNY. Next up are RSL, Feb 19 @ 5p.m. CDT. We hope to have the live stream on the Facebook of Soccer Houston Magazine.
