Just a quartet of years ago, Pecile was in the Academy of the Whitecaps, out of Burnaby BC, he is now the 22nd out of their academy to sign an MLS Homegrown deal with the team. Now at 17, he is one of 4 Homegrowns to sign as such in the past 12 months.
Axel Schuster, 'Caps SD informed "Damiano is a talented prospect who still has a great deal of room to develop and improve. We will continue to evaluate the best options for him."
2019 had him with both the team's development team with trips to England, South Korea & Mexico with their U-19's and Canada's U-17 NT, where he played every minute in Brazil. In the DA, he had 43 starts over 56 games with 20 goals. He had also been with the U-15 NT. He entered the DA after time with Mountain United FC, Burnaby Selects & Cliff Avenue United FC and the BC Soccer Provincial Program.
Pecil offered "It means everything to me to finally sign my first professional contract. I would like to thank my parents, family, coaches, friends and everyone who has helped me along the way. It is a dream come true."
