Grassroot Soccer (GRS) is thrilled to announce that Dr. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka — former U.N. Under-Secretary-General, Executive Director of U.N. Women, and Deputy President of South Africa — has been elected to the GRS Global Board of Directors!From her days as a student activist and organizer to her career as a leader in gender, education, and youth development, Dr. Mlambo-Ngcuka has worked tirelessly toward effecting positive change in human rights, equality, and social justice. Last fall at GRS’s Seventh Annual World AIDS Day Gala, Dr. Mlambo-Ngcuka was honored for her life’s work with the first ever Grassroot Soccer Game-Changer Award.
