Gotham FC and defender Mandy Freeman Agree to Contract Extension |
HARRISON, NJ (Thursday, December 19, 2024) - NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced that the club and defender Mandy Freeman have agreed to a new contract, which extends through the 2026 season. “Thank you to the fans and the club for supporting the team this past season,” said Freeman. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the continued growth of Gotham. Go bats!” Freeman is the club’s longest-tenured player, as the 2025 season will be her ninth year with the club. She was selected by Gotham FC with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NWSL Draft. “Mandy is an incredible player and has been with Gotham through everything,” said Gotham FC General Manager and Head of Soccer Operations Yael Averbuch West. “We are thrilled that she has decided to continue her journey with us.” Last season, Freeman scored her first goal for the club in a 4-1 win over the Utah Royals, scoring Gotham FC’’s second goal of the match in the 17th minute. Freeman featured in 16 games in the 2024 regular season, including seven starts, collecting one goal and two assists. In the 2023 season, Freeman was a part of the club’s run for the 2023 NWSL Championship title. That season, Freeman made 10 appearances, including six starts. Throughout her NWSL career, Freeman has recorded 7,045 minutes and has made 95 appearances, starting 78 matches. |
