Fire Hope to Have Scored a TD with Their TD

Many major changes installed, more to come for the Chicago Fire as they now have Sebastian Pelzer on board as their Technical DIrector. The German had been a pro as a defender with a stellar 16 year career. Now he will work being involved in all levels of soccer operations for the Fire, reporting to Sporting Director the newly installed Georg Geitz.

Pelzer informed "I'm looking forward to joining Chicago Fire FC. I will do my best to help in every way that I can."

As TD, he will scout and grade players locally and internatoinally, aid in building relations with clubs across the globe, work tight with HC Wicky, the coaching and technical staffs, assist with soccer operations budget and team salary cap.

Heitz told "I have worked closely with Sebastian in the past and we see football in the same way. We share a similar perspective. I'm excited he has chose to join us here in Chicago. He is the type of teammate and colleague that we wanted to bring to this club."

Out of Trier, Geremany, Pelzer wore their colors at the youth level and had over 350 games at the pro level most of the time in the Bundesliag and Liga, Over 7 clubs between Germany & England for 16 years. HIs teams included FC Kaiserslautern, Blackburn Rovers, SV Eintracht Trier 05, FC Saarbruken, Dynamo Dresden Rot-Weiss Ahlen & FC Hansa Rostock. & years as captain for Dynamo Dresden & FC Hansa Rostock, getting Rostock to the Bundesliga.

Along with his playing, he has a UEFA B lic., half a decade on the players council of German Professional Footballers' Assoc. (PFA). A cousultant at Heusler Werthmueller Heitz AG, he keet up with his efforts to alter management and strategic operations at many football groups in Europe. At this time he worked very close with SD Georg Heitz.
