Fire get Habers from Union

By Sean McCaffery, December 18, 2018

He no longer counts as a foreign player, having gotten his green card in 2017, this 25 year old is in the windy city for 2019 with the club holding his option for 2020. A forward who tore up the NCAA while at Creighton, was on the watch list for the Hermannn Trophy as a junior and his 15 goals and 17 assists were good for Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 2015. Overall a stellar college career in his three years as a Bluejay, he struck for 28 goals in 57 games, a torrid rate. He was selected 6th in the 2016 MLS Super Draft then in the season he played 32 games with 3 goals and a team tops 7 assists, totalling 53 games 22 startsĀ  had 4 goals and 9 assists while in Philly.

Fire Pres. & GM, Nelson Rodriguez had this to say, "Fabian is a player that we've followed since college." In return the Union now have a 2nd round pick for the 2019 draft.
