NEW YORK (Monday, August 8, 2022) – Today, Major League Soccer announced the addition of FC Cincinnati Forward Brandon Vázquez to the roster for the 2022 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T 5G, replacing Toronto FC’s Lorenzo Insigne.
The Skills Challenge will put both MLS and LIGA MX All-Stars to the test across various competitions, including shooting, touch, pass, crossbar, and cross and volley challenges. This year’s Skills Challenge will take place on August 9 at 7:30 PM CT / 8:30 PM ET at Allianz Field in Minneapolis, Minn. and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, TUDN, TSN or TVA Sports. Tickets are available here.
Vázquez was named to his first career MLS All-Star Game in his sixth MLS season and third with FC Cincinnati. In 23 games this season, Vázquez has set the single-season club record for goals (14) and goal contributions (18), and the forward’s 14 goals are tied for the second-most in MLS while his 18 goals contributions are tied for the third-most in the league. In his last five games for the Orange and Blue, Vázquez has produced five goals, which included a brace at Inter Miami CF on July 30. The 23-year-old joins his teammate Luciano Acosta as the first two All-Star selections in club history.
