DEVELOP WINNING TEAMS

Our National Teams unite and inspire us. They represent the best of our sport and create unforgettable moments that have the power to change American culture and energize the American people.

We have 27 National Teams, including senior Men’s and Women’s National Teams, Youth National Teams, and Extended National Teams across Beach, CP, Deaf, Futsal and Power. Their success fuels participation, enthusiasm, respect, engagement and investment in the game across our country. We must sustain our efforts to ensure they are the favorites to win every time they step onto a pitch.

This will require investments in technology and training to improve how we identify talent, develop players and ensure our athletes have access to the best people, facilities and systems to enable their on-field success while supporting their mental, emotional and physical well-being.

We’re also proud to have more Extended National Teams than any Federation in the world. We will continue to invest in their long-term sustainability, together with partners, donors, members and the entire soccer landscape. These adapted styles of play show that players from all backgrounds and abilities can thrive in our game. Their success can inspire and engage not only the communities they represent, but our diverse nation as a whole.

ACCELERATED INITIATIVES

While we work diligently with our membership and stakeholders over the next several months and into the 2024 Annual General Meeting on long-term planning, we are accelerating select initiatives to drive immediate impact against our strategic pillars. We will provide updates in the months ahead regarding the progress of these accelerated initiatives and will keep our community informed of additional progress made in advancing our strategic pillars.

UNIFIED SPORTING STRATEGY

In order to create a more structured approach to the development of our elite National Team players, we are actively developing programmatic plans for the Men’s and Women’s senior National Teams, Youth National Teams and Extended National Teams. This refreshed approach will allow us to set desired outcomes at each level, prioritize performance metrics and develop clear programming shaped for both individual player and team success. Underpinning player development will be a new technology platform that allows the tailoring of personalized training programs for players in coordination with club and National Team coaching staff. This will create new cohesiveness across all our programs, allowing us to operate and win as one team.
