Some home cooking helped United tie up Houston after trailing by 2, getting both in the 2nd half the last 7 minutes into extra time as they squeaked it out. This brought the number of times DC and Houston have faced eachother to 25 times in the regular season and tied the first time since 2011. All time the United are now 284-280-135, not since 2016 have DC come from back from a 2 goal defecit with NYRB with this was the first game at the Maryland Soccerplex for an MLS team.

Players with local ties, Frederic Brilliant started for DC (see below) and former NYCFC teammate Patrick Mullins got 15 minutes.

It was quite a game for the numbers

-1st start and goal of the season for Acosta

-1st MLS start for Mora

-2nd goal in consecutive games for  Darren Mattocks first time he had done so since 2014

-1st assist of year for Asad

-1st assist with DC for Brilliant

-1st assist of year for Arriola

-3rd straight game for DC by Durkin

-50th MLS start for Brilliant
