Cosmos stalwart, Flores joins Saverese in Portland

Just announced, 2017 NASL assist leader, Andres "El Ruso" Flores has departed league finalists, NY Cosmos to rejoin coach Saverese in the Pacific Northwest. Competing in 80 matches over 4 years and contributing 10 goals and 18 assists, the Salvadorean international was a quick crowd favorite, joining the team after a loan from ES Turin-FESA he was made a Cosmo in July of 2014.

His soccer began with Academia Maul of the Primera Div. in ES in 2006 where he remained for 3 seasons. Moving on to ES Adissidro making 60 appearences with division titles to boot. His next destinaton would be Demark on loan to Vibarj FF he was to later rejoin ES.

The National Team history of El Ruso goes back to  the U-15,17,20,21 & 23 teams, joining the senior team in 2008 v TNT. Placing 3rd in this most recent Gold Cup was a tremednous result and he was quite the fan favorite, as I was taking photos and he warmed up behind me, he was the only one the crowd was cheering for, he would be in this tourney on three seperate occasions. He also participated in Copa CentroAmerica in 2011,14 & 17.
