The Cosmos are not out this Weekend, but Read our Interview

We were able to catch up with just the 2nd captain of the most famous brand is USA soccer since their reboot, only to find the next game was not to be. We began by inquiring as to how his family has been through this Coronavirus crisis, thank goodness, all are well on his side of the family and that of his wife.

During the worst of times, he did find it tough to train as the fields were closed, but was able to get in a lot of roadwork and do body weight exercises.

Once getting the OK to train from Nassau County, the Cosmos were back at it in small groups until it was fully opend up for full team training, beginning with 4-6 players at a time. As for the pre-season, his teammates had already gotten back and they all had a program to follow in the down time, so all arrived somewhat in shape as they did well in retaining fitness. He was not happy with how the previous season had gone, as they failed in getting the NPSL & Cup titles, they very much want to win.

The COVID has made for a crazy time, they now want to see what happens with DCFC, it will be a good test, it will be tough to get 3 points. He thought the Independent Cup was a good opportunity to get in preseason games & good for the amatuer teams to face the pros. They of course missed one game due to the weather. As he kept using the word "WE". I remarked that there was some speculation on his not returning after last year, he wanted to return as it was not the way he wanted to finish out his career. He further went on to say he did feel well coming into this year and given the craziness and shortened season of this year, again not how he would like to draw the curtain on his career.
