The Fire and Section 8 Chicago jointly let it be known that a new supporters section has been established in section 137. They both are expected to pack the house at the newly named SeatGeek Stadium on Mar. 9 for the home opener facing Orlando at noon. All groups and the team alike have recommitted to back Fire For Food, the initative of the team to raise funds in support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. During the week of the season opener, Fire staffers will join those of the supporters groups to be at the Depository, keep an eye out for more details. Fire Pres. & GM Nelson Rodriguez informed, "Over the course of 4 productive and informative meetings during the off season-where we saw a genuine spirit of cooperation." "I'd like to personally thank Nicole Hack, Marty Tomszak, Joel Piktel & the entire leadership." Nicole Hackm Chair of Section 8 Chicago added " On behalf of Section 8 Chicago, I would lkie to acknowledge and thank the front office staff that participated in this process." There will now be supporters behind both goals, the Harlem end, 117 & 118 on the north side of the stadium and sect. 137 in the south. Sections 117,118 & 137 are only for supporters, game day and individual sales may only be secured via Section 8. Visiting fans now will be in sect. 203.
