VINCENT CAVIN NAMED AN ASSISTANT COACH FOR THE U.S. MEN’S NATIONAL TEAM
Cavin Joins Gregg Berhalter’s Staff after 13 Years with the Swiss Football Association
CHICAGO (Dec. 22, 2023) – The U.S. Soccer Federation has named Vincent Cavin as an assistant coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team. Cavin joins the staff of USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter after 13 years with the Swiss Football Association, having served as an assistant coach and other roles for the Switzerland Men’s National Team since 2014.
“We are pleased to welcome Vincent to the USMNT staff. His international experience at global soccer events will certainly be a valuable asset,” Berhalter said. “He shares our vision and values and adds a perspective that will benefit the entire group.”
During his tenure, the Switzerland National Team participated in three FIFA World Cups, two European Championships and one UEFA Nations League Final. Since 2021, he has also served as the team’s Head of Performance Development. He will begin work with the USMNT during the January camp next month.

After a 10-year playing career in Switzerland, Cavin began his coaching career in 2005. He joined the Swiss FA in 2010 as an assistant coach and analyst with the U-21 team that finished as runners up in the 2011 European U-21 Championship and then participated in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. During his tenure, he was a course leader and instructor for multiple coaching education licenses. He holds a UEFA ‘A’ License and is expected to complete his UEFA Pro license in the beginning of 2024.
From 2018-21, he also worked as the Sports Coordinator for the senior team, serving as a liaison between federations, clubs and players. He speaks five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
