Casseres is Back with the Bulls

As he enters his 3rd year with MLS team New York Red Bulls, Cristian began an extension to his contact as the 2019 team Defensive Player of the Year.  Sporting Director Denis Hamlett informed "We are very pleased to reach agreement with Crisitian on a new contract. Cristian showed his importance to our team last season and we look forward to his continued growth and success this year and beyond."

He had a stand out 2019 as a central mid, with 29 interceptions, 34 tackels won, 165 recoveries, coming in at 34th league wide with 170 duels won, offensively he brought home  a trio of goals and a quartet of assists in his 1,801 minutes over 23 games.

Casseres Jr. added "I'm very happy to renew my contract with the New York Red Bulls, with this beautiful family that has been created by everyone that's part of this team. I'm glad to continue here with the team and will continue to give my all for them."

For his Venezuela, he has come up the ranks quickly while with his club team. 26 games with a goal and a pair of assists in 2.061 minutes following his debut with the U-17's. Of late, he started each of the 4 games in the 2020 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tourney, the game winning assist he dealt out led to their only win, facing Ecuador.

HC Chris Armas told "Cristian took a big step forward last season. Crisitan has all the tools. He is fearless on the field."
