MATCH REPORT: BURNLEY 3-1 MILLWALL
Promoted Clarets victorious on final day
Burnley crowned a remarkable Sky Bet Championship season with a 3-1 victory over Millwall that took their points tally to 100 and extended their unbeaten league run to 33 matches.
After the visitors took the lead at Turf Moor, Josh Brownhill immediately restored parity and Jaidon Anthony made it 2-1 with a cool finish mid way through the second half.
Brownhill topped an impressive season of his own with a fantastic free-kick in second-half stoppage-time, with the Clarets finishing 2nd having already secured promotion to the Premier League.
Head Coach Scott Parker named two changes from last week’s win at Queens Park Rangers, as winger Marcus Edwards returned to the match day squad and slotted straight into the starting 11.
With Zian Flemming ineligible to play against his parent club, Ashley Barnes led the line in BB10.

Parker’s men had the better of the possession in the early stages and after Barnes hit a post from an offside position, there were two goals in two minutes.
Millwall were first to strike when George Honeyman broke away down the right-hand side and crossed for Mihailo Ivanovic, who was able to get across CJ Egan-Riley and convert from close range.
The Clarets hit back straight from kick-off. After great tenacity from Barnes to close down one defender and tackle another, Brownhill confidently swept the ball into to the bottom right corner
As the match’s high-octane nature continued both sides had chances, with James Trafford forced to tip Japhet Tanganga’s header wide before Anthony’s effort was cleared off the line by Jake Cooper.
Our visitors should perhaps have taken a lead into the half-time break, but Josh Coburn was unable to convert Tristan Crama’s cross on the stretch from three yards out.

Burnley came out firing after the restart and Hannibal was at the heart of things.
The Tunisian first led a rapid counterattack and teed up Anthony for a shot that was saved by the legs of George Evans, before seeing his own whipped effort skim the roof of the net.
With Turf Moor rocking the Clarets put their foot on the accelerator, but Edwards and Anthony were unlucky to both have shots blocked behind by perfectly positioned defenders.
They eventually got their well-deserved goal in the 66th minute, and it came from Egan-Riley’s quick thinking.
The centre-back spotted Anthony in space on the left and played a free-kick perfectly into his path, leaving the winger to take a touch and finish low.
With the game calming down Parker turned to his bench for the first time in the 78th minute, replacing Barnes and Edwards with Lyle Foster and Jeremy Sarmiento.
Josh Laurent later replaced Hannibal before Trafford produced a smart save to deny Femi Azeez, allowing Brownhill to round off a perfect day with a free-kick into the bottom left corner with virtually the last kick of the match.
