BULLSEYE BEVERAGE SAVED MY LIFE ! The Value of a Nice Local Merchant!

By Kevin McCrudden, July 14, 2015

As many of you know, in addition to being the Publisher of Soccer Long Island Magazine, I am also an international author and motivational and leadership speaker.

Recently, I launched, the "Walk for America," where I will be walking across America and have invited a retired member of each branch of the military to join me along this walk from New York to San Diego.

For those of you that live on Long Island, I want to bring your attention to a local business and local business owner that saved my life!

This past Saturday it was in the mid 80's here on Long Island and I finished some early morning chores and decided to go for a run / walk in preparation for my walk across America.  This was an estimated 15 mile run / walk that took a turn for the worse.  When I left my home, I hosed water on my head and neck and drank some water and had a bottle of water with me.  As I got past the first 3 or 4 miles the temperature had risen to about 88 degrees and I had already finished my water.  As I got to about mile 8 or 9, I was feeling a little weak and dehydrated.  At about 4:15 on Saturday, I approached BULLSEYE BEVERAGE at 395A East Main Street in Smithtown.  I thought I would simply ask if I could take a bottle of water and come back later to pay for it, since I had no cash on me. When I enetered the store, I evidently didn't look very good.  As I proposed my wish to the new owner, she looked at me and said, "of course!"  She offered to have me go into the walk-in beer cooler to cool off, which was unnecessary.

The kindness of one person to take care of another person, is the most simple act, but not done often enough.  The taste of that one cold bottle of water may be the best bottle of water I have ever had!  After a few moments in the air conditioned store and a cold bottle of water, I was able to continue my journey home.  When I got home, I was exhausted with a bit of heat exhaustion.  I slept for about 4 hours.  The next day, Sunday, after Mass, and thanking God for my good fortune, I drove to BullsEye Beverage in Smithtown to keep my promise and pay for the lifesaving bottle of water.

I encourage anyone in the Smithtown area to go to BULLSEYE BEVERAGE  at 395A East Main Street in Smithtown to get your beer, soda AND WATER!

Tell them Kevin sent you!.

One good turn deserves another!

God Bless and thank you !
