New York Red Bulls II Acquire German Defender Brooklyn Schwarz on Loan from SG Sonnenhof Großaspach

HARRISON, N.J. (March 13, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II have acquired German defender Brooklyn Schwarz on a one-year loan from SG Sonnenhof Großaspach through the 2025 season with option to extend loan or purchase, pending visa and registration approval, the club announced today.
“We are excited to welcome Brooklyn (Schwarz) to the team” says Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya “He is a young center back who will be a great asset on our backline.”
The 19-year-old defender most recently played with German Oberliga Baden-Württemberg side SG Sonnenhof Großaspach. Schwarz made 17 appearances during the 2024/25 season and made his debut against Schwabisch Hall in a 2-0 Landespokal Württemberg First Round win on July 20, 2024. The center back scored his first career goal in a 3-2 win over CfR Pforzheim on November 1, 2024.
The Stuttgart, Germany native began his career with Karlsruher SC academy, featuring for the U-17 and U-19 teams. He appeared in five matches with the U-19s, making his debut in a A-Juniors Bundesliga South match against U’haching U-19 on October 2, 2022.
