Reigning MLS Cup champions New York City FC and Valentín “Taty” Castellanos prepare to face Seattle Sounders FC and Fredy Montero in the semifinals of the region’s premier club tournament.With both clubs vying for a spot in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final, the pressure is mounting from the two scoring sensations in setting the tone ahead of a guaranteed MLS-vs.-Liga MX tournament final. NYCFC’s Castellanos, the 2021 MLS Golden Boot presented by Audi winner, has four goals as the second-leading scorer in the competition. However, Sounders FC’s Montero is nipping at his heels after notching three goals in Seattle’s last two CCL appearances. Leg 1 is set for Wednesday, April 6 at Lumen Field (10 p.m. ET, FS2 / TUDN). Leg 2 takes place one week later on April 13 at Red Bull Arena, with broadcast details to be announced.
