Baby Bulls are off to Derby City & Louisville FC

By Sean McCaffery, November 1, 2018

In very familar territory for me as my last team was in Louisville, NYRBII are meeting this opponent for what is now the third straight  year in the Eastern Conference Finals. Should familarity truly breed contempt this will be quite the contemptous match up. See it at 7:30 Friday evening on ESPN+. The 2017 season came to a screaching halt here on pk's. NY has had the hot hand away from home and look for their 5th straight away victory and have played 9 games unbeaten, seeking to get that into double digits. The underdog last week facing top seed FC Cincy, they were dispatched to the MLS on a sour note as NY beat them 1-0, also ending their run of 2 dozen game unbeaten streak, this was one of the pair of shutouts for the Baby Bulls in this post season following a regular season which had them doing this just 3 times. Looking to make it 2 of 2 in the USL Cup, a win in the city by the river puts them back into the final, hopefully hosting, not going to Phoenix. When last in the title game, it was played at home and they topped Swope Park Rangers in 2016. Neither of the 2 match ups this season have gone the way of the Bulls as they lost one and tied the other, a high total of 16 goals were scored between the both of them. This final has the last 2 league champs facing off.
