AMERICAN SOCCER CLUB NEW YORK VISITS NEW YORK SHOCKERS WEDNESDAY IN NORTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE SEMIFINAL
The Fighting Tomcats are set for the first playoff match in team history
Long Island, NY (July 7th, 2026) – American Soccer Club New York will play the first playoff match in team history on Wednesday night when they travel to Colonie, New York to meet the New York Shockers in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinal. Kickoff at Afrim’s Sports Park is set for 7pm and the winner will meet New Haven United FC in the North Atlantic Conference Championship match on Saturday night in New Haven.
“The boys have worked hard to earn this deserved spot,” said American Soccer Club NY Head Coach John Fitzgerald. “The coaches and I are pleased with the squad’s efforts and attitude along the way. We always have a spirited match with the Shockers and I expect the same on Wednesday. We’re prepared to take on the task.”
The Fighting Tomcats completed a 4-2-4 regular season with last Wednesday’s playoff-clinching 3-1 win at Osner’s FC. Striker Junior Rosero recorded a hat trick sending American Soccer Club NY to the postseason.
American Soccer Club NY and the New York Shockers split a pair of regular season meetings with each club winning on the road.
On May 2nd, the NY Shockers scored a stoppage time goal to beat American Soccer Club NY 2-1 at Mitchel Athletic Complex. Tommy Wagner scored the lone goal for the Fighting Tomcats.
On June 20th, Leo Pinto had three assists as the Fighting Tomcats defeated the Shockers 4-1 on the road at Afrim’s Sports Park. Ezequiel Palomeque scored two goals for American Soccer Club NY.
American Soccer Club NY heads into Wednesday’s playoff match on a six-game unbeaten streak, seven including the 2-1 exhibition victory over the New York Cosmos on June 24th.
