The 2nd soccer shoot of yesterday was in Astoria at the local soccer retail mecca that is Upper 90 Queens, a small field in the center of the store is kinda crazy but works. NYCFC sent out 4 of their players for photos and autogrpahs and just days pre NYC Derby in Jersey. Announced today this historic club now has 8 fields/2 artificial, sports hall, academy & clubhouse with offices in North Munich. At a cost of 81 million US seems no expense was spared.

Official Host Cities for the bid being submitted for the USA, Mexico and Canada in their unified attempt at hosting as the field jumps to 48. With this of course there are criteria which must be met to host games and other things, team camps, International Broadcast Center, hosting the draw etc. Each of the 44 cities are asked to reply with their interest by Sept. 2017. The next date of note in this process would be late Sept., the creation of a short list, Jan.
It was build a ball day at the most recent NY Cosmos game as pre game, local members of the Boy Scouts and their families came into MCU Park and had some fun. They received special patches and of course the Werner Roth t-shirts. Some of the lucky Scouts were selected to hold the flag during the national anthem.
Saturday saw the first NYC Derby in the Bronx of this season. The home team prevailed on the strength of a hat trick by David Villa, the first of his pro career.
