This 5 year old team now has but one who has been with them since day 1 as midfielder Jimmy McLaughlin has been retained. Out of Malvern PA, he was in camp on a trial, and his performances in the trio of games in AZ, at just 26, he is ready for the coming season. An ill timed ACL injury as the 2019 season was set to kickoff, cost him the whole of the first year in MLS. Over his trio of years with the side in the USL, he had 104 games, 72 starts with a bakers dozen goals and 11 assists over all games.

GM Gerard Nijkamp told "Jimmy has shown his quality and has demonstrated a strong work rate on the pitch during preseason. He is a great representative of what it means to be part of FC Cincinnati."

Jimmy added "It means the world to me just to be a part of this team. The last year has been a tough challenge mentally and physically. I love this team, and I love this city and I'm excited for the 2020 season."

2018 had him in 30 games, 11 starts, good for a pair of goals and twice as many assists. Part of the quartet who made 30 or more games, he ended on a bang with 3 of those assists over the last 6 regular season games, he is the first player to 100 games. The Phildelphia Union's 2nd Homegrown following a single year at Colgate in 2011. 2012-'15 had him back and forth with the Union and the Harrisburg City Islanders, with the first team, he had one start with 7 games. The Islanders saw much more of him with 56 games, 8 goals and a pair of assists.
