Expansion Draft: This is all about Austin FC, we were joined by their Head Coach late last week as we had a Zoom interview with Dwayne De Rosario, and Josh Wolff was good enough to join us in celebrating this milestone achievement for his teammate. The draft will be carried by the Facebook of Soccer Long Island Magazine from 6 p.m. ET tomorrow. Austin is able to chose from 160 players, a maximum of 5, fully 10 teams are unable to have a player picked as they had one so chosen with two teams entering in 2020 and made their selections.
readCovid has yet again reared it's ugly head. This virus which has fouled things up for the better part of the year has once again impacted soccer in the USA, NYCFC has had 3 players test as having the virus, causing them to travel on game day, not yesterday as expected. They need a big win facing Tigres to stay in the games kickoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET on FS2 & TUDN. After one positive test, all players and staff then took the RPOC testing yielding another pair of positives, NYCFC & Concacaf came to the agreement to travel game day.

readThe big news out of these meetings is that money usually earmarked for the Innovate to Grow Fund will go to member groups impacted by the Corona Virus Crisis. These dollars are now destined for the US Soccer's Covid-19 Relief Fund, so away with the grants being done in the fall of 2020 and now the money will go to member groups other than pro leagues from $7,500- $15,000. What may the monies be used for? Instructor fees, support the carrying out of coach & ref courses, Covid related procurment and prevention supplies along with office operating expenses.
