Was it an honest mistake, a book keeping snafu? The investigation by MLS into the inking of Blaise Matuidi continues to see if this addition was in step with the leagues League Roster & Budget Rules of 2020. Already this probe has shown that Miami was not in step with these rules. Last year, Matuidi, set as a TAM player, but his pay was above that threshold, making him a DP, thusly they violated the DP Limit with 3 plus him on the season.

In the off-season, the team bought out one of their DP's, Matias Pellegrini, putting them into accord with the DP number for 2021.

After much thought and consideration, the Open Cup Committee has come to this hard fought decision to not hold the competition this spring. Tey put the blame on the logistical & monetary concerns related to the Corona virus crisis. They have not ruled out conducting this event in the fall.

Yes, I had to read part of this a few times over. In an email received late yesterday, the Red Bulls made it known that they are of course working hand-in-hand with MLS to to finally set their way of handling fans at RBA, they open v SKC on the 17th at 8 p.m. ET. In appreciation of the health and safety of all involved being the highest of priorities and in staying in line with the local laws and guidelines, the plan will set their procedures in place for all to be in attendance.

Saunders April 02, 2021 Back in late October 2020, Baroness Sue Campbell, the director of women’s football at the English Football Association, emphasized that there is no timeframe for the introduction of full-time professional referees in the women’s game until 2024. Since her comment, the quality of refereeing in the Women’s Super League is still being heavily criticized by players, managers, pundits and of course fans.

It took us many months over two teams to get the elusive interview with the son of a past co-worker. His father had been speaking of his son as being a great player, always met with a jaundiced eye, I first saw him play before people from Roma, under age and undersized for his age, he more than held his own. Fast forward father and son are making a 4 hour drive a few times a week to Whippany, quite the commute for the New York Red Bull Academy, with high praise coming out of it, a short stint with NYCFC before they dropped that age group.
