The first trials start soon but the Cosmos have already signed 3 for the coming NPSL season today. Returing Alexis Velela from Europe, former rival Jonathan Borrajo & Wojciech Wojcik. Coach Mendes stated " Borrajo is a versitile defender that can get forward and play a few positions for us. His last 2 years with Miami FC had him in 39 games doling out 6 assists as they swept both the Spring & Fall seasons but falling to the Cosmos in the league semi final in penalty kicks. 2015 had him with the Ft.

Nemanja Nikolic last years Golden Boot Winner in the MLS was called up by Hungary for a pair of games, both in Budapest, Mar. 23 with Kazakhstan and Scotland on the 27th. Back in 2014 he earned his first cap with a World Cup Qualifier, 3 days after he would get his first goal, he now has 5 goals in 25 matches. His 2 dozen in 2017 may very well be surpassed this year as he struck twice in the first game of the season for the Fire.

Missing were the locker room area and tunnel fireworks as was the loss for NY and they bested TFC, 2-1, behind a brace from TInari as Ben Mines contiuned to impress with an assist and Valot who will surely get a lot of time with the first team had the other assist. It was a bit like Atlantic City as Harrisson had many cards dealt, 4 to the visitors and 2 to the home team. NY showed some early season grit overcoming a 1-0 defecit. This was the first time NYRB won its season opener in their 4 year history. Just 11 minutes in Matthew Srbely got in behind the defense to put one home.
